Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy

You must accept both our Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy before we can accept and process your order. You can do this using the tick box on our Checkout page.

Security and Personal Data

As part of the ordering process, we must collect, process and store some of your personal data. We do this in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR - of the European Union, effective 25 May 2018.

Your personal data: what do we collect and why?

We collect your name, billing address, delivery address, email address and phone number and what you have ordered.

We need this information to fulfil and despatch your order, to communicate with you and to resolve any problem that may arise. We keep your data on our secure server.

If you want your information deleted, we will delete it. However, you should understand that if we delete your data, we will not be able to communicate with you or resolve any problem.

Do we share your personal data?

We will not share your data with any individual, company or organisation, except in the following circumstances:

  1. Processing your payment: your name and billing address will be required to authorise your secure online payment. See Your payment card data, below.
  2. Shipping your order: in addition to your delivery address, your phone number and/or email address may be required by the post office or courier. Without this information, they may not be able to deliver your order.
  3. We use a third-party provider to manage our e-Newsletter mailing list. If you choose to signup for our e-Newsletter, your name and email address will be transferred to their system for processing. See Our e-Newsletter below for details.

Your payment card data

As part of the ordering process, you must provide your payment card data.

This information is collected via the PayPal secure server and payment gateway. We do not see, record or save this data.

Our e-Newsletter: it’s your choice

We send out our regular e-Newsletter about 10-12 times a year. It contains stories about our travels in Africa and news of our latest discoveries with pictures and links to our website. We'll also let you know about events, exhibitions and books that we think you'll find interesting.

You can sign up for our e-Newsletter either on our Signup page or as part of the Checkout process. In either case, you must tick a box to indicate your active consent to be signed up and must provide your name and email address.

We use MailChimp to manage our mailing list and when you sign up you must acknowledge that your name and email address will be transferred to MailChimp and processed according to their their Privacy Policy and Terms.

We will not share your data with any other individual, company or organisation and neither will MailChimp.

If you wish to update this information or if you wish to be removed from our e-Newsletter mailing list, there are two ways to do this:

  1. There are two links at the bottom of our e-Newsletter.  Update your preferences to update your information and Unsubscribe from this list to delete yourself from the list. Click the relevant link and follow the instructions.
  2. Notify us by email and we will make the changes for you.

Cookies Policy

Our website - like many others - uses small files called ‘cookies’ to help customise your experience. Cookies are stored by your web browser on your computer. They help us tailor our site to suit your needs, optimise our site's performance and allow us to process your shopping basket when you check out.

These cookies are deleted when you close your web browser. We do not use tracking cookies or third party cookies.
