On 1 May 2024, Magie and Bob retire - well, sort of - leaving The African Fabric Shop in the creative and capable hands of our own Jenny Hall and Wally Bahoum.

Shop visits by appointment
We're not really a bricks and mortar shop in the conventional sense. Our space is an open plan office lined with shelves of fabric with a big cutting table in the middle.
We're not geared up for walk-in shoppers for a couple of reasons. First, we're not in the shop every day. Second, when we're in the shop packing website orders, it can be pretty chaotic.
That said, you are welcome to visit the shop... but please, please, please... call or email to make and appointment. That way, you'll avoid wasting a trip.

Our pal Gemma and her team are always busy in this welcoming, home-style café. Bob always has pie and peas, except when he has Yorkshire pudding piled with roast beef and gravy. Magie loves her toasties. Best espresso and cappucino in Meltham. Highly rated at 4.5 on Tripadvisor.

A Meltham institution and the best place to go for takeaway sandwiches - especially bacon and sausages reared on the family farm. Best pork pies and Scotch eggs on the planet. Good salad boxes as well. Top rated 5.0 on Tripadvisor.
