Hand-dyed cotton prints from The Gambia
These simple graphic depictions of African imagery have a wonderful naif feel. They are all created by my friend Musa Jaiteh in his family compound in The Gambia, using a combination of stitching and wax stamping to create a resist before hand-dyeing in Kola nut and Indigo. All fabrics are 100% cotton, either plain weave or Damask weave, as indicated.
Note about colour
Because all of these fabrics are hand-dyed, there may be slight variation in colour from batch to batch or from pattern to pattern.
Ordering Lengths
Musa dyes his fabrics in small batches, so these fabrics are normally available in pieces up to 2.5 metres long.
If you need more than 2.5 metres of a specific fabric, please check with me first for availability.
