Hand-embroidered panels from Kenya

These lovely panels are hand-embroidered by Christine Kibuka in Nairobi. Christine uses high quality, colourful embroidery threads on her backgrounds of softly faded denim to create each unique piece of embroidery.

I first met Christine and saw her work when I was hosted by the Kenya Quilt Guild in 2010. I just loved the wonderful naif feel of her designs. It's taken more than a year of encouragement, but she's finally let me bring her embroideries to a wider audience via the internet. I hope you like them as much as I do.
